About Patterson Boatworks
Simon and Hamish Patterson head up a team of experienced boatbuilders at Patterson Boatworks.
Specialising in timber and composite boatbuilding, we utilise the very best of todays resin and reinforcement technologies, married to traditional timber techniques and materials. 
The company was formed to offer a complete boat building and restoration service for modern racing, traditional and composite boats in the north of England. Aimed at the bespoke market that values performance, styling and finishing, as well as the racing market that is looking for novel construction methods and an informed knowledge of modern timber composite lightweight hull/deck construction techniques.
We try to source our timber as locally as possible, oak, douglas fir, cherry and other fruit woods being the mainstay of our production. We do, of course, use tropical hardwoods, mahogany, teak, utili etc, but are very careful in our selection both in terms of quality and eco sustainabilty.
