Racing Yachts
We have the ability here at Patterson boatworks to produce light weight timber and foam composite hulls for yacht racing.
We utilise the very latest CAD to assist in producing one off hulls, as accurately as possible, to minimise the hours and weight of fairing.

The Boatworks 50 and the Corby 27 are the forerunners in what we hope will be a long chain of performance yacht builds.

We have also been working closely with some of the skippers involved with the new and very exciting "Class 40" boats.
The rules prohibit the use of carbon, so we have have been working on light weight foam timber composite hulls. The results are very promising and offer extremely stiff, strong hulls and decks for only around a 2 to 4% weight gain. When you combine the cost saving and the appeal of timber, its a very inviting construction method.
